The Saratoga Automobile Museum is celebrating the tremendous success of its 9th Annual Saratoga Motorcar Auction. More than 250 exceptional cars and 120 lots of automobilia crossed the block, achieving a 70% sell-through rate and generating over $8 million in total sales. The result created a weekend to remember for the Museum, its supporters, volunteers, and the city of Saratoga Springs.
The highlight of the event came on Day 2 when a 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale stole the show. Competitive bidding drove the price to an astonishing $808,500, setting a new auction world record and securing its place as one of the most remarkable Ferrari sales of the year.
“A sale of this magnitude is exactly what we strive for,” said Bill Windham, Auction Director. “The Ferrari 458 Speciale is an extraordinary car, and to see it achieve a world record here in Saratoga is proof of the quality consignments and global attention our auction now commands.”
Earlier in the day another world record was set with a beautifully restored 1974 Jaguar XKE, which sold for $156,750. The timeless Jaguar design once again proved its enduring allure among collectors.
Beyond the excitement on the block, the success of the auction represents something even greater for the Museum and the community it serves.
“The Saratoga Motorcar Auction is more than a sale. It fuels our mission to celebrate and preserve automotive history while providing vital educational programming and exhibitions for our community,” said Megan Hennessey, Executive Director of the Saratoga Automobile Museum. “Every bid helps us inspire future generations and ensures the Museum continues to make a lasting impact.”
With nine successful years now in the books and growing national recognition, the Saratoga Motorcar Auction has solidified its place as a premier destination for collectors and enthusiasts. Planning is already underway for the 10th Annual Auction, which promises even more unforgettable cars and record-setting moments.
