For 1970 Pontiac gave the GTO a comprehensive redesign refining its proportions and introducing a more aggressive sculpted body style. The Judge package continued to serve as the ultimate expression of Pontiac’s performance engineering blending track-ready power with bold graphics and vibrant colors. Beneath the new lines the GTO carried forward its proven performance formula highlighted by the Ram Air IV 400-cubic-inch V8 producing 370 horsepower. The result was a car that combined advanced performance technology with distinctive presence—one that captured the essence of Pontiac’s engineering leadership at the height of the muscle car era.
This rare 1970 GTO Judge convertible is one of only 168 built that year making it one of the most collectible examples of Pontiac’s high-performance legacy. Finished in elegant Granada Gold it features the Judge’s signature stripes rear spoiler and hood-mounted tachometer. Powered by the Ram Air IV 400-cubic-inch V8 and paired with a Turbo 400 automatic transmission this car represents one of only six automatic Ram Air IV convertibles produced and is the only one finished in Granada Gold. Its combination of luxury and performance is especially unusual as convertibles were seldom ordered with Pontiac’s highest-output engine. Equipped with a 390 Posi-traction rear end and loaded with options this Judge blends open-air driving with true muscle car power.
