The Saratoga Automobile Museum will have a major presence at the first annual Auto Racing Expo, set for June 15-18 at the Turning Stone Casino, just off exit 33 of the NY Thruway in Verona, NY.
ÏThe Expo is a perfect match for the museum,Ó said Racing in New York gallery coordinator Ron Hedger. ÏOur display will be highlighted by the Budweiser #11 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by 1985 NASCAR Winston Cup champion Darrell Waltrip. He spent many seasons battling with Parsons and Allison and the car will trigger many memories for NASCAR fans. WeÌll also have a pair of vintage open cockpit cars, the Bridge Ford V8-60 midget and Buddy HinmanÌs Hillegas sprint car.Ó
Visitors to the auto museum display will be able to purchase Living Legends Series DVDÌs , featuring such notables of the sport as Carroll Shelby, John Fitch and Chris Economaki, and register their e-mail addresses so the museum can notify them of upcoming events. The museum offers an ongoing series of talks by past and present racing personalities as well as the annual introduction of the new members of the New York State Stock Car Association Hall of Fame.
Admission to the Auto Racing Expo is free to the public, and the hours are Thursday, June 15th 4-8 pm, Friday and Saturday 11 am to 8 pm and Sunday, June 18th from 11 am to 4 pm.
