HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARATOGA AUTOMOBILE MUSEUM!

There is nothing more fun than a birthday celebration for a five year old, and the Saratoga Automobile Museum knows that better than anyone as it celebrates its anniversary with four days worth of activities starting on June 1, the anniversary of its opening. When asked about the museum reaching this milestone, Chairman of the Board Bob Bailey put it best ÏEvery year that has gone by since we opened in 2002 has been more exciting than the last Ò whether itÌs our Summer of Ì57 exhibit, the beautiful Bugattis, or visits from the icons of Racing; Carroll Shelby, John Fitch, Sam Posey, and Chris Economaki. And to add to the festivities, weÌre announcing our 1,000th member of the Museum, who will be the recipient of special birthday gift. ItÌs been an amazing beginning!Ó
Special activities will include:
Thursday, June 1, all day long, preschoolers and other youngsters will be able to decorate wooden cars in the Sprockets to Rockets exhibit (while supplies last) to take home. The workshop is FREE with Museum Admission (kids ages 5 and under are FREE to the Museum ALL THE TIME).
Friday, June 2, all day long, kids will be able to put together balloon cars that they can take home Ò theyÌll be able to test them on the tracks and ramps of the Sprockets to Rockets exhibit (while supplies last).
Saturday, June 3, at 2pm, older kids ages 5 and up will be able to put together simple Revell model cars in the Sprockets to Rockets Exhibit (while supplies last) Ò the workshop is $3 for members and $8 for non-members plus Museum Admission.
Sunday, June 4, guests will be admitted to the Museum FREE of charge if they bring in a non-perishable food item that will be donated to EOC Soup Kitchen and Pantry located at the Presbyterian New England Church in Saratoga Springs. (one guest FREE for each non-perishable food item).
WhatÌs a birthday without cake? At 2:00 pm on Sunday, join us for cake and good wishes for another year of wonderful exhibits and exciting events.....
Museum admission is $7 for adults, $5 for Senior Adults and active military with ID, $3.50 for kids ages 6 and up, and FREE for kids ages 5 and under. For everyone who loves cars, or just those who love museums, a visit to the Auto Museum, now features the eclectic cars in the exhibit ÏDriving Passion÷ the Jim Taylor CollectionÓ as well as the newly added NASCAR championship winning Budweiser #11 Monte Carlo driven by Darrell Waltrip, as well as dozens more of some of the most dazzling Ïrolling sculpturesÓ in the New York State Stock Car Association Hall of Fame, ÏRacing In New YorkÓ and the history of automobile manufacturing in New York in ÏEast of DetroitÓ.
The mission of the Saratoga Automobile Museum is to display significant cars, trucks, and vehicles that not only represent the automotive heritage of New York State but the entire world of motorized transportation. The Museum is chartered by the Board of Regents of the State of New York Department of Education and in addition to organizing permanent and temporary exhibits, the Museum hosts a variety of workshops, interactive displays, lectures, and outdoor shows.
