If youÌve run through the list of what to get Dad for FatherÌs Day, and the ties and coffee mugs donÌt cut it anymore, the Saratoga Automobile Museum has come to save the day on Saturday, June 17 from 9am-3pm with ÏA Gathering of Old CorvettesÓ in front of the Museum, and the ÏCitroen Rendez-VousÓ at the Warming Hut Grounds in Saratoga Spa State Park. These lawn shows are Free with Museum Admission.
If Dad craves a gift as well, you can stop by inside and have a ÏModelbuildingpaloozaÓ at 2pm where you and olÌ Dad can join Model Building Experts Matt Trotta and Dave Carnevale as you get to build a simple Revell Model Car. Each model is $3 for members and $8 for non members plus Museum Admission.
There are lots of things to see and do at the Museum for all ages, and Museum admission is $7 for adults, $5 for Senior Adults and active military with ID, $3.50 for kids ages 7 and up, and FREE for kids ages 5 and under. For everyone who loves cars, or just those who love museums, a visit to the Auto Museum, now features the eclectic cars in the exhibit ÏDriving Passion÷ the Jim Taylor CollectionÓ as well as the newly added NASCAR championship winning Budweiser #11 Monte Carlo driven by Darrell Waltrip, as well as dozens more of some of the most dazzling Ïrolling sculpturesÓ in the New York State Stock Car Association Hall of Fame, ÏRacing In New YorkÓ and the history of automobile manufacturing in New York in ÏEast of DetroitÓ.
The scenery is constantly changing at the Museum, whether looking at a race car named ÏPoison LilÓ, the odd-looking Amphicar, Charles LindberghÌs Franklin, or actually sitting in a Formula Vee Racer, Dad will never forget the great times they have at the Museum.
The mission of the Saratoga Automobile Museum is to display significant cars, trucks, and vehicles that not only represent the automotive heritage of New York State but the entire world of motorized transportation. The Museum is chartered by the Board of Regents of the State of New York Department of Education and in addition to organizing permanent and temporary exhibits, the Museum hosts a variety of workshops, interactive displays, lectures, and outdoor shows.
The Saratoga Automobile Museum is located on the grounds of Saratoga Spa State Park at 110 Avenue of the Pines. For more information, guests can also visit the MuseumÌs website at www.saratogaautomuseum.org or call (518) 587-1935.
