2010 Saratoga Wine and Food and Fall Ferrari Festival to Feature Celebrity Chef Lidia Bastianich and Andrea Zagato

Celebrity chef and restauranteur Lidia Bastianich and designer Andrea Zagato will be the Honorary Chairs of the 2010 Saratoga Wine & Food and Fall Ferrari Festival: Celebrating Design. The Festival, presented in partnership with the Saratoga Automobile Museum, offers three days of events showcasing fine wines, food and luxury automobiles. 



Bastianich is the host of three PBS cooking shows including the Emmy-nominated series, Lidia�s Italy, as well as Lidia�s Family Table and Lidia�s Italian-American Kitchen. She is also the chef/owner of four acclaimed New York City restaurants as Felidia, Becco, Esca and Del Posto, as well as Lidia�s in Pittsburgh and Kansas City. She has also authored several best-selling cookbooks, and together with her son Joseph, produces award-winning wines at their Bastianich Vineyards in Friuli, Italy. 



Adrea Zagato is the current head of the iconic design house founded by his grandfather Ugo Zagato in 1919. 

 Zagato originated the use of aircraft techniques in the design and construction of lightweight automobile bodies, applying knowledge acquired in the aeronautical industry to Zagato-bodied Grand Touring cars built for Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Fiat, Abarth, Maserati and Lancia, as well as Aston Martin and Bentley.

100 Years of Alfa Romeo will also be honored at Saratoga with a special exhibit of Alfa Romeo automobiles.


Three Day Festival Schedule:

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 10
10:30 AM Adirondack Road Tour: $50/person
Open to all Ferraris, Maseratis, Alfa Romeo and Zagato-bodied Automobiles

Depart at 10:30 AM from the Saratoga Automobile Museum in Saratoga, N.Y. for a short tour of about an hour and a half from the historic Lake George Club, over some spectacular Adirondack roads.� An elegant lunch will be served on the Club�s veranda overlooking beautiful Lake George.� There will be three Comitti finely crafted Italian mahogany motorboats available for demonstration rides on the lake.

7:00 PM � �Live On Stage� Gala: $150/person

An exclusive invitation to attend one of the most widely anticipated events of the year. Embark on your own personal adventure in taste at the Live On Stage Gala. Join us to honor Andrea Zagato, World renowned auto designer from Milan, Italy and Lidia Bastianich, one of television�s best-loved chefs. Cocktail attire. Reserve early as seating is limited.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 11
A veritable feast for the senses, the Grand Tasting is a must-do for epicureans and Italian auto enthusiasts everywhere!� Vintages from international wineries and innovative cuisine from the region�s top restaurants.� Wine, food and design seminars. Ferrari Concours, including Zagato and a special tribute to 100 Years of Alfa Romeo. Extensive silent auction of luxury items, including exotic travel packages, jewelry, original artwork and more.

A lively discussion of Italian Design, hosted by Honorary Co-Chairman Andrea Zagato with participants Piero Rivolta and Jason Castriota. Look, listen and ask questions of legendary designers whose credits include Carrozeria Zagato, Bertone, Pininfarina and others.


1:00PM � 5:30 PM��Grand Tasting, Ferrari Concours and Live Auction: $75/person�

Sample fine wines from international producers, foods from the region�s top restaurants and admire a field of fine automobiles, all for a single admission.
Ferrari is the honored marque, displaying custom bodied and production examples. Special exhibition categories include Zagato-bodied cars and 100 Years of Alfa Romeo. A display of new Ferrari and Maserati models will al be presented by Wide World of Cars.
The Live Auction will be conducted by Kevin Zraly, founder/author of the Windows on the World Complete Wine Course. Bid on exclusive luxuries such as tickets to every 2010 SPAC performance (with preferred parking), dinners, rare wines, fabulous destination packages and so much more! Prosecco and Italian desserts will be served.


1:30-2:30 PM Heritage of Italian Design Seminar: $40/person��

Symposium on Italian Design with Dr. Andrea Zagato, Piero Rivolta and Jason Castriota, moderated by Ed Lucas.

End the day at an exclusive lounge party hosted by SPAC�s savvy Junior Committee. The official post-tasting event, enjoy savory food, spirits and hip lounge sounds. It�s the one party that will surely end much too early.
