Autoshow Weekend - Recap

As I sit here and run the amazing events of this past weekend through my mind, I wonder where I should even begin...so I've decided to take it from the start!

The weekend kicked off Friday morning as I arrived to the Museum to see one of the finest displays of auto craftsmanship, design and engineering that I've ever seen, as the Invitational cars lined up for their drive to Lake George.

Wayne Carini held the floor that night as he spoke to an eager and engaged audience on topics of auto restoration along with auto education.  I even saw Wayne Saturday morning mingling with the vendors on the field!  Mother Nature set the stage by providing the most optimum weather for the weekend.  After seeing the cars illuminated by florescent lights here in the museum for the past few months, it was truly breathtaking to see the sparkle and shine that only the sun's rays can provide.  As the Euroshow cars began to line the field, it was clear that we were in for a real treat.

Saturday night's gala was a evening for the history books!  The company, the food, the entertainment and the auctions were just over the top.  Thank you to everyone who attended and helped raise money for the "Make a Wish Foundation" and SAMS Garage.

Sunday started off with a healthy dose of SPF sunscreen as we prepared for the Autoshow and the Invitational.  I had the honor of spending the morning with 15 young car enthusiasts for the Haggerty Youth Judging.  Five invitational Cars were chosen for us to judge, as we had the pleasure of meeting the owners of each vehicle and learning the history and engineering behind their prize possessions.  We all learned and had a terrific time.  Special thanks to Cris from Haggerty for such a great program.

The tally's were counted and the awards were given, and one by one we all watched as the cars left the field.  Overwhelmed by the excitement and exhaustion of the weekend, the only thing that ran through my mind was...I CAN'T WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR!
